2017 I Capuleti e i Montecchi

Integrated into Ópera de Tenerife, is a project aimed at young professionals who do not have even the trajectory, and experience the scenic enough. After a selection of singers at the local, national and international, working for a month musical aspects and dramatic, to put in place a title of the opera within the opera season of the Auditorio de Tenerife. Opera (e)Studio born of the desire to fill the empty space on the left the young artists when they have finished their period of training top and have to make a debut on a stage.

Giulio Zappa as artistic and musical director of the project, Silvia Paoli in the stage direction and an extensive team of professionals have prepared to the selected in all those aspects necessary to meet a good representation operatic according to mark the current canon european: a technique of musical interpretation and scenic, style, direction, body expression, nature theater of the role, the historical context of the composition, the drama, the study of the libretto, etc, which culminates in the production of I Capuleti e i Montecchi Bellini, with the Symphony Orchestra of Tenerife and which is included within the season of the Opera de Tenerife, thus ensuring direct contact with the reality of the theatre.

Production: I Capuleti e i Montecchi

I Capuleti e i Montecchi is a tragedy lirica in two acts by Vincenzo Bellini with libretto by Felice Romani about the story of Romeo and Juliet, based on sources in italy and Luigi da Porto, Matteo Bandello. It was released on 11 march 1830 at The Teatro la Fenice in Venice. Inescapable witness to the first belcanto with an orchestration smart and great moments of lyricism, this work of Bellini presented in our Opera (e)Studio is about the impossible love between Romeo and Giulietta. The libretto by Felice Romani, is based not on the text shakespearean, but in earlier sources, although the rivalry between two families and the tragic ending of the lovers is maintained. It is peculiar that the role of Romeo will be played by a mezzo, to sing the famous Cavatina Romeo” in the first act. Located, in chronological order, just before the major productions of the end of the short life of the composer, as La Sonnambula, Norma and I Puritani, is a witness to the inauguration of the Romantic musical, which symbolically opens in 1830, the same year the first performance of the work.
