Ópera de Tenerife offers this week two recitals in the municipalities of El Sauzal and The Lagoon. The first one will be tomorrow [martes 1], starting at 20:30 hours, at the Teatro El Sauzal, and the second will take place on Thursday [día 3], at 19:30 hours, in the Auditorium of the University of la Laguna. Both concerts -organized by the Cabildo of Tenerife, with the collaboration of the Municipality of El Sauzal and College – access is free until full capacity.
The recitals will count with the participation of the young artists of the seventh edition of Opera (e)Studio: Maria Rita Combattelli, Beatriz de Sousa, Klodjan Kaҫani, César Arrieta, Alberto Bonifazio, James Ochoa, Givi Gigineishvili, Matteo Andrea Mollica, Sofia Esparza and Leonora Tess, who will be accompanied at the piano by teachers Hana Lee and Claudio Marchetti.
The program that will be interpreted will be a tour of some of the most beautiful pieces of the lyric through titles such as ‘ Il barbiere di Siviglia, La Scala di seta (Rossini), L’elisir d’amore, Poliuto (Donizetti), Falstaff (Verdi), La sonnambula (Bellini), Faust (Gounod), La bohème (Puccini), Die tote Stadt (Korngold), Eugenio Oneguin (Tchaikovsky), Chateau Margaux (Fernández Caballero) and Carmen (Bizet).
The ten singers are on the island since the beginning of September, where they have been receiving training lyrical integral that has taken place in the Auditorium of Tenerife. During that period have received master classes with the artistic director of Opera (e)Studio, Giulio Zappa, the soprano Mariella Devia, the stage director Pablo Maritano, and of the mayor of Ópera de Tenerife, Alejandro Abrante.
This work of perfecting artistic conclude with the staging of the October 24 to 27, the title L’elisir d’amore, which means the start of the season of the Opera de Tenerife 2019-2020. A production that is performed in conjunction with the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre, in a project financed by the Creative Europe programme.
