The director of the island Culture, Alejandro Krawietz, welcomed the twelve young singers who begin their specialised training

The eighth edition of Opera (e)Studio kicked off today [viernes 29] in the Auditorium of Tenerife, with a presentation ceremony in which twelve singers featured in this promotion were received by the director insular Culture of the town hall, Alexander Krawietz; the artistic director of the Auditorio de Tenerife, José Luis Rivero, and the director of Opera (e)Studio, Giulio Zappa.

Krawietz welcomed to the island to the singers and explained to them that “Opera (e)Studio is a project of maximum relevance to the Cabildo of Tenerife, and I guess for you too”, I wanted you to remember this experience “as an interesting stage in his career” and that in these two months “to find time to enjoy the island.”

Jose Luis Rivero said, “we are very happy to put in scene, Il matrimonio segreto, in these difficult times; it is a great responsibility for all. They have been chosen among many applicants and that is why I congratulate you; I wish you much luck and a lot of work”.

The director of Opera (e)Studio Giulio Zappa undertook a review of the work process that they are going to have the singers during your stay in Tenerife and in his speech “resulted in the current challenging circumstances” and asked singers “that adhere to strict security protocols”. “From today, we will start to work and my availability to you is total.”

Young people, who were elected from among 195 applicants, will spend two months of intensive training on the island, a period that will take classes with industry professionals in order to prepare for their roles in the opera Il matrimonio segreto, a co-production of Auditorium of Tenerife with the Teatro Regio di Parma and Teatro Massimo di Palermo.

The singers, who are between 22 and 31 years, will be the two casts, composed of six roles, each of Il matrimonio segretoby Domenico Cimarosa, which will be released in the Auditorium of Tenerife from 18 to 21 march in four roles in the Symphony Hall.

Thus, the Lithuanian Ignas Melnikas and the Italian Francesco Leone, low both, construed, to Geronimo, the soprano Italian Eleonara Note and Marilena Path will be in the role of Elisetta; the Italian Giulia Mazzola and the German Veronika Seghers, the two sopranos, will be Carolina; Fidalma will be interpreted by the Italian Mara Gaudenzi and the French-Claire Gascoin, mezzosopranos; the Spanish Jan Antem and the chilean Ramiro Maturana have been chosen for the role of Conte Robinson, baritone, while the Turkish-Bekir Serbest, and the Italian Antonio Mandrillo, both tenors, will assume the role of Pauline.

The musical direction of this artistic proposal is made by Davide Levi, to the front of the Symphonic orchestra of Tenerife, while the stage direction is assumed by Roberto Catalano. The rest of the team is completed with the set designer Emanuele Sinisi, costume designer Ilaria Ariemme and lighting designer Fiammetta Baldiserri.

This program for young artists aims to provide a training of high specialization in the picture lyric international, serving showcase and springboard for many of them. Opera (e)Studio also drawn attention to the work of production technique of Tenerife Auditorium, obtained throughout 2019 and 2020, in recognition of the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission, reflecting the development, sustainability, job creation and training.
