Written in only three weeks after the success of Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini went to the tale Perrault to compose one of his operas more round. Transformed the plot in a comedy pure and stripped him of everything supernatural and was left with a history of entanglements loving that works as a machine of precision in that it compensates for the dramatic, with the frivolous, the inner beauty with the physical, and the values that move us. The modernity of the plot has led to the director, Silvia Paoli, to transfer its action to a television set while shooting a reality as of today in these times of media exposure to create a universe of characters that so perfectly reflects the libretto.
